200 Follower Giveaway || Cue the Confetti

Posted June 14, 2019 by Sammie in giveaway / 36 Comments

Can I just go on record and say that when I started this blog in January of 2018, I never imagined having 200 followers?

Because who would want to listen to me rant and rave about books? Pfft, clearly not sane people. And who needs them anyway, with their logic and not crazy ideas?

I have met so many wonderful people in this community and learned so many new things that I really just wanted to take the opportunity to give something back.

200 followers felt like as good an excuse as any. Because without y’all, where would I be? Talking to nobody like the crazy lady that I am.

โœฆ The Rules โœฆ

Nobody likes them, but we still need them, since everyone seems to frown on anarchy, for some reason.

โœฟ Giveaway runs from 6/14 – 6/21, midnight to midnight

โœฟ Prize is your choice of (1) book worth $15 or less from Book Depository

โœฟ Open international (wherever Book Depository ships)

โœฟ Winner will be drawn via Rafflecopter and notified via email

โœฟ Since I’m only 70-ish people away, let’s up the odds, shall we? If I get to 1,000 Twitter followers before the raffle ends, I’ll pick TWO winners instead of one.

Since my TBR needs more love (or punishment?), tell me either what your favorite read of 2019 has been thus far or what upcoming release you’re looking forward to the most.

  1. Thanks for the giveaway, Sammie๐Ÿ˜ My favorite book so far this year is A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World.

    • Oh, that’s a good choice! I’ve heard such beautiful things about it. I want to read it, but I’m not sure my feels can handle it just yet. xD

      • Chittajit R. Mitra

Hey! Thank you for the giveaway. So the 1st book that I read in this year is actually also my favorite. Do check out “What we talk about when we talk about rape”

        • Man, that title really makes you pay attention, doesn’t it? Hadn’t heard of this one, but it sounds like a really important, poignant read! Thanks for the recommendation.

  2. Thank you so much for the chance Sammie. I am most looking forward to the release of the final book in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. It comes out on September and is called Capturing the Devil.

  3. My favorite read thus far of 2019 is The Wicked King by Holly Black. An upcoming release I’m looking forward to is Sailor Moon Eternal Edition #5.

Enjoy expanding your TBR! The journey never ends lol.

    • Yes! I loved The Wicked King, and I’m so excited for Queen of Nothing. It can’t come out soon enough. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks. If the journey ever ended, I’m not sure what the heck I’d do with myself. xD How boring would that be?

Happy 200 followers, and thank you so much for the giveaway Sammie! <3
My fave book of 2019 so far has been The First Time She Drowned ๐Ÿ™‚
    Rafflecopter name: Megan S.

My favorite reads this year are King Of Scars and Crown Of Feathers
I’m so exited to read Queen Of Nothing by Holly Black and Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

    • Oooh, I didn’t realize The Queen of Nothing was coming out this year! I thought it was due in 2020. Yeees. I’m so excited for that. Crown of Feathers looks really good, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Aah how did I miss this post!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! So pleased for you to have hit 200!!
My favourite is so difficult as thereโ€™s been and going to be some outstanding middle grade this year!! I think a Pinch Of Magic by Michelle Harrison is definitely up there!

    • Thank you so much! <3 It's been a journey, that's for sure, but I'm so thrilled to have made it this far. You know, for a hobby that I wasn't sure anyone other than my mom and friend would read. Except, my mother doesn't even follow my blog, so ... there's that.

Oooh, I looked it up and it sounds so good! I'll have to check it out.

      • Oh I know exactly what you mean with the question of whether I would be shouting into the void – it feels amazing that our hobby is shared by others ๐Ÿ’œ

    • Yeees, I cannot wait for The Queen of Nothing! I need me some more Cardan, please. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about The Ninth House lately, but would you believe that I haven’t read any Leigh Bardugo? Because I’m a monster, obviously? I’ll have to check it out. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Woooohhh. Cardan is to be protected at all costs please๐Ÿ˜ญ Also, did you see the tweet by Black saying CARDAN gets what he deserves in the next book aghhhhโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜…
I am really anxious because Cardan deserves all the love but also spanking for being a bully in TCP
        ๐Ÿคฃ

        • Cardan deserves cake and servants and maybe even a puppy or two, so clearly, that’s what she meant. xD

Pffft, you know the spanking would be more of a reward than a punishment for him anyway. ๐Ÿ˜›

  7. Yvo

I’m not sure if I can pick just one favorite, but my last 5 star read was Call Me Star Girl by Louise Beech. An absolutely incredible read by a new favorite author! Second place would probably be for What The Wind Knows by Amy Harmon. <3

      • Yvo

I hardly ever have just one absolute favorite in a year… Even picking one for each month is complicated most of the time haha.

  8. _Sandra_

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo and The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi are some of my favorite reads this year. Super excited for Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh and The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.

Thank you for a generous giveaway!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    • I see a lot of people eagerly waiting for Ninth House, but you know, I haven’t read any Leigh Bardugo yet. xD I’m ashamed of myself. I keep meaning to, though. I’ll have to pick up something of hers soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m interested in The Starless Sea, too! Sounds like a good one.

So happy for you, Sammie! Congratulations, dear, and here’s to many, many more followers! โ™ฅ
I’m still struggling with a terrible reading slump, so I haven’t read many books so far this year, but I am anxiously waiting for some new releases, and the main one is Capturing The Devil, by Kerri Maniscalco. I need that book with my entire heart, and if I were the lucky winner, I’d definitely preorder it! – the Stalking Jack the Ripper series is one of my all-time favorites, and I cannot wait to read its conclusion!

    • Thank you so much! <3

Reading slumps are the worst. =/ I just couldn't get into that series, but I know sooo many people who love it and are looking forward to its release! I admit, I am slightly in love with the title and curious what it's about. The cover's gorgeous, too! I hope you love it!
