It’s time to play “guess that book” and also watch our TBRs weep.

“Apart from that.”
Book Reveal
Cupcakes, romance, and lovable canines abound in Heather and Sinead’s next adventure, but it isn’t all fun and games. The girlfriends are investigating a very personal kidnapping, and the threatening notes left behind accuse Sinéad and her punk-rocker twin brother of hiding something.
But after solving their first mystery together last Christmas, this one should be a piece of cake. After all, no one’s been murdered this time, and their witch-sorcerer rivalry is a thing of the past. Except it turns out there is a murderer, and a jewel thief as well, and why on earth does everyone keep talking about bees?
It appears Starford is a lot more exciting than Heather’s home town of Old Wetchhaven, and Sinéad’s insistence that Heather move in with her brings a whiff of trouble to their private paradise. Can Heather adjust to life near the big city? Or will the mounting secrets prove too much and turn their second case into their last?
A Hive of Secrets and Spells is a witch cozy mystery with a sweet lesbian romance and heart-warming magic.
Reasons to Read
✿ Cupcakes and sorcery, which is the best combination.
✿ Perfect cozy mystery for cold winter days.
✿ Not one, but three fluffers to appreciate.
✿ Plenty of banter and wit to satisfy even the saltiest reader.
✿ Super easy to get sucked into the story.
✿ In the reading sense. You don’t get magic. I already tried.
I keep meaning to say I love how you hide the book and make us guess with these posts. Is that a plug in? Curious minds want to know😁
Thank you! I use a plug-in called Collapse-O-Matic (it’s a jQuery script, so if you know anything about jQuery and aren’t as lazy as I am, you could probably just make it yourself and make it actually pretty, but … ehhhh effort).
Cool, thanks Sammie!
you can use this HTML code:

Just make sure you change the parenthesis () to angle brackets and you’ll be all set!
Thanks Nicole!
You’re very welcome!
The title of your post alone won me over: Cupcakes AND Sorcery?! And those first lines! Weather controlling bread dough!? What did we do to deserve something so magical? 😍
Well, I mean, personally, I nagged the author endlessly and relentlessly and drove her like a slave driver whenever she didn’t want to write, so … I clearly earned this? What you did to deserve it, I don’t know. Pffft, slacker. 😛
This sounds cute! I don’t know why, but I’m a sucker for stories that blend magic and baking.
Because they’re two of everyone’s favorite things? So the combination is dang hard to resist.
I suppose so! And… I’ve now added the first in that series to my TBR. 🙂
Ooh, this sounds like such a fun mystery! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂
Thanks! I’m just about done, and I’ve definitely had a lot of fun with it.
Sounds like a pretty sassy book. Have fun with it. My quotes from THE DUTCH HOUSE
Thanks! I definitely am. Has me giggling like a crazy person.
This one looks interesting.
It’s definitely been a lot of fun to read!
Banter? Magic? Cupcakes? You are definitely making my TBR weep with this one. I want to fly right out and get a copy to read tonight.
And thanks for revealing the magic behind your fun click to reveal titles. Of course, now we all want to do that.
It’s what I’m here for. 😉 RIP your TBR.
I hope you do! Muahaha. I like to think it adds a bit of mystery to the experience. If it doesn’t, don’t tell me. I don’t mind living in my own little fantasy world where it does. xD
The beginning made me giggle. 🙂 Happy Friday the 13th weekend!
Sounds like fun! Thanks for sharing.
Today on my blog I’m sharing the first two lines from The Earl’s Betrothal by Karen Tuft. This book is SO good. If you love Regency I highly recommend this story. I’m currently on chapter 10, so I’ll share from there:
“Amelia slept until noon, so exhausted she was from the events of the day and night before.”
Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂❤📖
Sounds like an interesting book!
I love those snippets!!
It’s definitely been a super fun read so far!
Somehow I commented before I had even said anything. I apologize for that!
What I was going to say is that I cannot resist a mystery involving magic and baked goods. 🙂 This does sound good. I am glad you are enjoying it.
No worries, happens to the best of us at some point. xD I’ve finished it, and it was definitely super cute! The end sets up a third book in the series, and now I’m super excited.
What a cool set up you have for the Friday quotes, etc. 🙂 I haven’t heard of that book but it sounds cute!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy it. And I thought it was a super cute (and funny) read.
Okay, I need to start in on this series. Thanks for sharing!
I hope you enjoy it!
