TBR Status: 5 books shy of angry rage monster.
Which means that, obviously, I’m totally safe to get a few more books, right? Is … is that not the takeaway here? That’s what I’m going with.
Normally, I don’t have much of a physical haul every month, but February was special. Mostly because my husband, after ten years of marriage, made one fatal mistake: he stopped at Half Priced Books. Honestly, after all this time, he should’ve known better. And yet … he’s only humanish. Barely even that.
I also have this really weird love/hate relationship with NetGalley, where I’ve been getting lots of approvals since working at a library … which signals to my lizard brain that obviously I should request more books. Obviously.
Physical Haul
✦ Daughters of Ruin
✦ Witch & Wizard
✦ Empress of a Thousand Skies
✦ Never-Contented Things
✦ The Whispers
✦ Ben Braver series
✦ If We Were Giants
On the left are HPB finds. On the right are blog tour reads. I had a really good month as far as receiving books for blog tours, and I loved them so much that we’ve officially added those to the library’s catalog now!
✦ A Monster Calls
✦ Dodger
✦ Alcatraz vs. The Evil Librarians
I’ve read A Monster Calls, but I loved it so much that I had to have it when I found it at HBP. Pratchett is also an auto-buy for me, and Dodger is the only one of his books I was able to find. And Alcatraz vs. The Evil Librarians was bought for the library. My director, bless her heart, got a great deal on a bunch of new hardcover kids’ books … but they were all later books in series we didn’t have, so now we’re trying to acquire the rest of the series … did I mention the bless her heart thing yet?
✦ Daughters of the Storm
✦ Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library
✦ The Menagerie #1 and #3
✦ Last Seen Leaving
✦ The Woman in Cabin 10
✦ The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley
✦ The Revenge of Magic
✦ The Last Dragon
✦ The Future King
More blog tour books! The library actually has this series now, and I’m excited for it to finish being cataloged. I think the kids will love them. Honestly, what’s not to love about dragons?!
Kindle Haul
So many lovely covers, right? Ugh, they get me every time. Most of these, either the cover caught my attention or they were based on recommendations. I refuse to count them, because that would just stress me out because, wow, I have a lot of upcoming ARCs to read. But it’s hard to say no to those figurative puppy eyes when the books are sitting there screaming, “Pick me.” Yes, I think I’ll take them all. I’ll just start me a book farm. Which I suppose is technically what a library is … but book farm sounds better.
Oh I love it – Book Farm. I would so want to work at a book farm. I think it’s great that you’re influencing your library to add so many great books to their catalog. Netgalley is the devil – but man I love evil things.

You’re welcome at the book farm any time. You can even try out any you see that you might like. 😉 Haha, I like that. Yes, indeed. It may be a villain, but, you know, I root for villains. 😛
I buy my books too, from my local bookshop. There is only one here selling in English. But it’s frustrating buying stuff that’s hyped that turns out, well, not to be my thing. Oh to work in a library and take books out every week.
I’ve basically washed my hands of hyped books. Unless they come recommended by someone I know and trust or if I read an excerpt and like it, I mostly just avoid the hype, because those basically tend to be my lowest rated books, somehow.
It’s really not as great as it sounds. xD I mean, it is. But then also … so many books, so little time.
Oh my gosh, that Kindle haul!😍😍 That must be so dangerous to have librarian status😁

Yeah, so, I clearly cannot be trusted with power LOL. Just an FYI, if we ever end up on a quest together or something. Don’t let me hold the MacGuffin. Don’t pick me as the chosen one. It doesn’t end well. xD
But yes, librarian status is lovely. I just need to remind myself that I don’t need to request *everything* I want to read, just the ones I actually have *time* to read.
Looks like a good collection of books! I hope you end up enjoying them all!

Thank you! I sure hope so, too. They all look so good.
WOW, that’s a nice haul! The book hoarder in me is super jealous right now! (Yes, I am a Book Wyrm on purpose. I’ve hoarded books ever since I can remember.)

Don’t be too jealous. My beautiful books are currently taking up what used to be called a floor. xD I clearly didn’t think this through.
More books a mistake!? NEVER!!!!! Nope. Refuse to ever think like that even though my TBR is like 500 books past being an angry rage monster. Kidding, not 500. Maybe 200! 😂 This is a great haul! It is also making me feel slightly less guilty about MY non-eARC haul (which I haven’t posted) hahaha (sorry)! I love all these covers and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them 😍 Happy reading, Sammie!

I … I refuse to acknowledge how many books are on my TBR at this point. It’s just … legion. They are legion, and they are many.
Oh, well, I mean, if we’re all just going out and buying a bunch of books together, it’s less of an oops and more of a … club? yeah, let’s call it a club. 😀 See? We were just supporting our fellow club members buy also buying books. 😉
Oh so many good looking books *.*

*Too many
There, I fixed your comment for you. xD I may have gone a little overboard. 😛
