As per my normal brand, I am completely late with jumping on this readathon. It’s only partly my fault.
Okay, completely my fault, but at least the reasons are good this time.
I don’t have a great history of follow-ups when it comes to readathons. I love the idea, and I eagerly join, but when chaos hits my life, as it tends to, it falls by the wayside, so what’s the point? I was trying to be a responsible adult and not take on too much. I’m not sure why I thought I could pull it off. I’m not sure what about me screams adult, but obviously, it’s not screaming loud enough.
In the end, though, I’ve wanted to participate in this readathon for, like, two years now, and I always miss it.
This is the first year I’ve actually been aware of the readathon when it started. I mean, I’m still jumping in late, but at least I was aware of it on time this year. That means I’ve had time to think about it and debate whether this was really something I wanted to take on. And you know what? It is. Because if I miss this for the third year, I’m probably just going to cry, and I’m having enough trouble with allergies that I don’t need to exacerbate the symptoms, thanks.
If you haven’t heard of the Magical Readathon yet, you can find more information about it here.
Also, this is where I should probably apologize for the really bad pun in the title, but I couldn’t help it. What’s the point of having a Harry Potter themed readathon if I can’t make really lame magical puns?
Nothing, obviously. There would be no point. So there will be lame jokes and awful puns, and you’ll just have to suffer through it.
Profession:
Magizoologist
If you thought I was going to choose any other profession, you were just kidding yourselves. Sure, I briefly glanced at things like librarian and writer, but in the end, it’s all about the magical creatures, baby. You know, things like dragons. Especially since this year, there’s a special dragon tamer training. Since there’s only four OWLs for this, I think it’s doable, especially since two of the books are smaller.
O.W.L.s:
✿ Care of Magical Creatures
✿ Charms
✿ Herbology
✿ Potions
N.E.W.T.s:
✿ O in Care of Magical Creatures
✿ E in Charms
✿ E in Herbology
Good luck with taking your exams 😉
I’m going for the Spellmaker career!

Thanks! Best of luck to you with your exams, too! Spellmaker is a great career choice. There were so many fantastic careers this year that I had such a hard time choosing. xD
I am going for the overachiever and complete all prompts
* if I am not mistaken, herbology is a book that starts with the letter (I) not (m).

I thought about doing that, but realistically, there’s just no way I’m going to be able to haha. I hope you meet your goal, though! I think it’s great, and if I had a little more time, I’d join you in that.
That’s what I’d thought initially, too. That font looks pretty, but it kills my eyes to try to read it. If you watch the video, though, she says a book that starts with M when she’s reading the prompts, if I remember correctly.
I don’t do readathons, but I’m sure they’re fun! It looks like you have some good books planning, I’m dying to read Deeplight😁 Good luck, Sammie!

I try not to, but gah, I always cave to peer pressure. Everyone else has so much fun with them, so I feel like I’m broken if I’m not also having fun. xD I’m so weird.
It looks so good! I can’t wait to pick it up.
I don’t think this would be a Sammie post if it didn’t have a wonderfully lame magical pun — and I OBVIOUSLY mean that in only the best way possible! 🤣 I love your posts because of them! Well, amongst other reasons lol I’m joining this one too and even though I was a little late to posting my TBR I’m making almost zero progress so … it doesn’t make a difference… Bahaha *internally crying* Awesome TBR though! I’ve never seen that cover of Deeplight before but it’s cool 😀
I’m okay with being known for my bad puns. xD Everyone’s gotta have something, I guess. 😛 There are worse things to be known for.
I mean, if it makes you feel better … the month is halfway over and I’ve read 0 of these books, too? So … yay, we’re both lame? haha.
Isn’t it pretty? I love it so much more than the other cover.
Good luck with your OWLs! I’m going for the Librarian career path. 🙂
Also… I haven’t heard of My Video Game Ate My Homework before, but I THINK I NEED IT. Just the title alone sounds amazing.

I thought about the librarian career (for obvious reasons), but I didn’t have an idea for one of the prompts, so I cheated a little. xD
Right?! It looks very much like “Trapped in a Video Game,” which I’ve never read but heard is funny. I figured it was something I could read with the Minion and it’d be fun lol.
Good luck with the OWLS and I honestly don’t think you could have chosen a better profession – unless you went with librarian huh? These books seem totally doable so I don’t think you’ll need it, but good luck anyway.
I totally looked at librarian first, but there was a prompt that I couldn’t figure out a book for, so … I chose something else. xD It’s only semi-cheating haha. I’ll probably still need luck, so thanks.
Good luck! This is one I keep meaning to join in too but always forget when it rolls around and I’m unprepared to just jump right in lol. Maybe next year. 😉 Have fun!
This has been me for the past two years. xD So this year, I put my foot down LOL.
Yeay I’m going for Magizoologist too. 1 more book for my animagus training.

Magizoologist is where it’s at. 😉 I’m scrambling to finish my last book LOL. Always wait until the last minute.
