Frequently Asked Questions
What is the point of this list?

To raise awareness for diverse books, as well as to make it easier for readers to find diverse books they may be interested in. This list attempts to match readers with books they may be interested in and expose them to new books they may not have heard of before.

What counts as a diverse book for this list?

I’ve tried to accumulate a variety of perspectives. Anything that is “outside the norm” from an American perspective, so that includes non-Christian, non-white, neuroatypical, and LGBTQ+ perspectives. For the purposes of this list, I’ve also tried to limit it to books published since 2015 and upcoming releases.

Why are there no sequels on this list?

In order to limit the sheer amount of books on this list, I only listed the first books in series and denoted whether the book was a part of a series or not.

I know a diverse book that’s not on the list. How do I get it added?

Please email the name of the book and the Goodreads link to sammie@thebookwyrmsden.com.

There’s something incorrectly labeled or missing a label that applies. How do I let you know?

Please email the name of the book and the author to sammie@thebookwyrmsden.com and I’d be more than happy to fix it! I am only one person, and I appreciate any and all help in this endeavor.
