April showers bring May … well … may God have mercy on my TBR. That’s probably how that statement should end.
This month wasn’t great on the reading front, especially since I’ve been working overtime a lot lately. It’s a bummer. Really impedes on the whole reading thing.
So what things have happened in the past month? Not a whole lot, but a few fun points:
✦ I volunteered at the library and got the worst sunburn of my life. I’m pretty sure there’s a lesson somewhere in there. But I also got ice cream afterward with one of the librarians, so … eh. The lesson is I’m easy to bribe?
✦ My husband proclaimed that he never gets sick … and got sick two days later. He’s been sick for a week now. He will never live this down.
✦ My eight-year-old watched The Mummy for the first time and decided she like Arnold Vosloo’s face (much to my husband’s dismay).
✦ She also wants to be a librarian, after learning that the only feasible way for her to become a princess is to forcefully take over a country.
✦ My muse woke from his long slumber and blindsided me with a high fantasy Aladdin retelling plot idea. Because he’s a jerkface.

— Sammie (@srbetler) April 4, 2019
Muse: Pssst.
Me: Not now. Go away.
Muse: Two words: Aladdin. Retelling.
Me: What? No. I don’t write retellings. Do you mind? I’m trying to shop.
Muse: OK. I’ll just leave this here. *drops half-built world into my brain*#writerslife
Me: *chanting* I will not request more ARCs, I will not request more ARCs, I will not request more ARCs ..

Thank-you very much for the mention. 😍
Always. <3 Loved your post!
This is a great wrap up post of all the bookish things! Quite a few of the books you’ve read this month are on my TBR….that I’ll get to eventually! Lol
Thanks! I hope you enjoy them when you get to them. xD I can so relate to that. I see all these people talking about these books I want to (and should) read. Maybe in another five years, I’ll have caught up just a teensy bit? 😛
The struggle to top the TBR is so real 😂
The Arnold Vosloo note has me dying. Ha!
I mean, clearly she’s got my good taste (though I did always prefer Oded Fehr), so I can’t fault her for that one.
Thanks for sharing my post <3. Eight is still a great number But I hope that May will have much less overtime for you. Just normal time, haha.
And ah kids, aren't they the greatest with their world domination plans?
Of course. <3
